Latest amendment on 4/18/2025: "Mobile phone information will NOT be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. By registering you are agreeing to receive SMS/Text messages for internal use only such as member meeting reminders and renewal notices."

Thank you for subscribing to the Seattle Women Leaders Association. The ten numbered sections below form the agreement that sits behind your subscription on SeattleWomenLeaders.org.

1. Introduction

Throughout this page, the Seattle Women Leaders Association (sometimes shortened to "the Association") is referred to as "we", "us" or "our". This page itself is our subscriber agreement, which we call the "Agreement". It is a legally binding document, and it governs the use you make of anything you download or stream from this website. That covers each seminar, conference, webinar, eBook and eDocument we publish, as well as every other item of content (all of which we call the "Content"). We, or our licensors, hold the intellectual property in the website and in all of the Content.

You will have confirmed your acceptance of the Agreement before you first reached the Content as a subscriber, or else in a confirmation e-mail that reached you afterward, and you are asked to confirm it again on each renewal. Every visit to the Content is itself a further confirmation. That is why we ask you to look at section 10 each time, to find out whether anything has changed since your previous visit. If the Agreement is not acceptable to you, or you have not been authorised to accept it on behalf of your business or work, then you should not access or use any Content at all. We would encourage you to keep a copy of the Agreement among your records.

2. Ownership and Your Licence

All intellectual property rights in the Content, copyright and database rights included, are the property of the Association or of its licensors. You recognise that "Seattle Women Leaders Association" is a trade mark that belongs to us, and that you may make no use of it without our written permission.

Within those limits, we allow you, on a non-exclusive basis and only for your own legitimate business or personal use, to retrieve Content and view it on any compatible device. Where a given item of Content is offered for download, you may also download it and keep a single copy on a storage device that is personal to you, such as a USB drive. That copy may not be placed on a shared drive, a shared server, or any other storage device that is connected to a network.

3. Restrictions

There are a number of things you may not do with the Content, and you may not permit any third party to do them either. In particular, you may not:

  • copy, reproduce, broadcast, transmit, modify, abstract, create derivative works of, store, archive, aggregate, publicly display, redistribute, share, forward, license, sub-license, publish, sell or in any manner commercially exploit any of the Content, save where section 2 expressly allows it;
  • share your username, your password or any other details by which you access the website (your "ID") with any individual or any other third party;
  • make your ID available to multiple users, whether on a network, within an organization or otherwise;
  • remove any copyright or trade mark notice from the Content;
  • frame, harvest or scrape the Content, or do anything that resembles those activities; or
  • use the Content for any purpose that is unlawful.

We reserve the right to monitor your use of any Service, and if you use the Content in a way that breaches section 2 or this section, the Association may suspend your access to the Content or cancel your subscription.

NOTHING IN THIS AGREEMENT THAT RESERVES A RIGHT TO THE SEATTLE WOMEN LEADERS ASSOCIATION DETRACTS FROM ANY OTHER RIGHT WE ENJOY AT LAW, INCLUDING UNDER APPLICABLE COPYRIGHT LEGISLATION; ALL SUCH RESERVATIONS ARE WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THOSE RIGHTS.

4. Subscribing and Your Account

When you subscribe, you need to give us registration information about yourself that is both accurate and complete, and it remains your responsibility to keep that information up to date by contacting us at Service@WomanLeaders.org. Each subscription is for one user only. If your subscription was acquired so that you could use it at a company or other organization that you work for or are otherwise engaged by, you are also accepting the Agreement on that organization's behalf, and both you and the organization are responsible for using the Content in accordance with it; a separate subscription is needed for each user within the organization.

You are responsible for every use of the Content made by you or by anyone else using your ID, and for preventing unauthorized use of your ID. Wanting a new ID, or suspecting that your ID or your payment information has been disclosed, stolen, used without permission or otherwise compromised, obliges you to tell the Association without delay; the address to write to is Service@WomanLeaders.org.

At any time we may offer more than one level or type of subscription, and the Content and services available to you may differ depending on the level you take. This will be made clear to you when you acquire the subscription. The Association reserves the right to change the Content and services, or any level of subscription, at any time. We will try to process your subscription application promptly, although we cannot guarantee that the Content will be available to you by any specified time after you buy.

5. Fees, Renewal and Cancellation

On subscribing, you must give us complete and accurate payment information, and you agree to pay at the rates in effect on the date you subscribe. By submitting card payment details, you warrant that you are entitled to buy a subscription with those card details. Late payment, a missing payment authorization, or an authorization that is withdrawn or declined after the fact each give us grounds to end your subscription or cut off your access to the Content on the spot. The Association charges in US dollars, and you may also have to pay any applicable taxes.

We may offer different payment terms and different subscription lengths, and the ones that apply will be made clear to you when you subscribe. An annual subscription will renew for another year unless, before the end of the annual subscription period, you let us know that you no longer wish to receive it; the renewal will be charged to the same card or other payment method you used before.

Except as section 6 explains in relation to the immediate start of your subscription, you have no right to cancel your subscription, or any part of it, before the end of the subscription period then current. You may give us notice of your intention to cancel at any time, but it will take effect only at the end of that period. To give that notice, contact our Customer Services team at Service@WomanLeaders.org.

If you breach these terms and conditions, the Association reserves the right to suspend or terminate your subscription, with or without notice and without further obligation to you. We may also suspend or terminate your subscription if circumstances beyond our control prevent us from providing services to you.

6. Refunds

When you place your order, you agree that we may start your subscription immediately upon accepting the order. This means that if you change your mind after we have given you access to your subscription, you are not entitled to a refund. Nor will you receive a refund when you cancel, except in the limited circumstances described in these terms.

Those limited circumstances are as follows. Should your subscription be brought to an end by us, whatever the reason, and/or should we stop publishing the Content permanently or stop running subscription services altogether, your credit card will be credited with a pro rata refund, barring exceptional circumstances. Put simply, whatever you prepaid for the portion of your subscription still left to run comes back to you.

7. Responsibility and Its Limits

This section is important, so please read it carefully: it explains to what extent, if any, the Association accepts responsibility (liability) to you for your use of the Content.

We provide the Content and the website on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Events outside our reasonable control, the workings of the internet, acts of God and the conduct of third parties all fall outside our liability to you, and so does whatever use you make of Content beyond what the Agreement contemplates. If you have not paid any subscription fee, we accept no liability to you for the Content or the website.

Whether the Content and the website are available, of good quality, secure, complete, accurate or clear of viruses and the like is something we give no assurance about. Our sole commitment regarding the Content and the website is this: we will aim to bring reasonable skill and care to building the Content and running the site, and we will make a reasonable effort to repair faults once they come to our notice.

The Content is provided only for your general information and use and is not meant to address your particular requirements. Nothing in it is advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation, representation or endorsement either; no user should lean on it when deciding to take, or to hold back from, a specific business, investment or other step.

WE DISCLAIM, TO THE GREATEST EXTENT APPLICABLE LAW PERMITS, ALL WARRANTIES, REPRESENTATIONS, CONDITIONS AND DUTIES OF EVERY DESCRIPTION, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTY OF SATISFACTORY QUALITY, OF MERCHANTABILITY, OR OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

ANY FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY WE HAVE TO YOU, WHETHER IT ARISES FROM YOUR USE OF THE CONTENT OR OTHERWISE IN RELATION TO THE AGREEMENT, IS CONFINED TO DIRECT DAMAGES AND MAY NOT EXCEED A SUM EQUAL TO THE PRICE YOU PAID FOR YOUR SUBSCRIPTION.

THE SEATTLE WOMEN LEADERS ASSOCIATION, TOGETHER WITH ITS AFFILIATES AND ALL OF THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, HAS THE BENEFIT OF THE LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY CONTAINED IN THIS SECTION 7.

One qualification overrides all of the above: our liability stays whole where negligence causes death or personal injury, where there is fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and wherever the law forbids a liability to be limited or excluded.

8. Disputes

Georgia law applies. Specifically, the law of the State of Georgia, United States of America, controls the Agreement and its meaning, and principles on conflict or choice of law are set aside. Both sides irrevocably agree that the state and federal courts located in Atlanta, Georgia have jurisdiction to enforce an arbitration award and to grant urgent interim relief in connection with the Agreement.

Any legal action arising from or related to your subscription, use or purchase of products or services of the Seattle Women Leaders Association is to be brought by arbitration in Atlanta, Georgia, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules or, where they apply, its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The filer (plaintiff) bears all arbitration filing and hearing costs, and each party is responsible for its own legal fees. Where applicable law or the applicable American Arbitration Association rules do not permit this, arbitration fees and costs are allocated as set by those rules.

9. Other Legal Terms

You may not assign, sub-license or otherwise transfer any of your rights under these terms and conditions. We, on the other hand, are free to hand any of our rights, duties or obligations under the Agreement over to a third party without first seeking your consent, so long as it happens as part of a reorganization, merger, consolidation, sale of assets or comparable transaction, and you agree to this.

A provision of these terms and conditions struck down as invalid by a competent court is cut out on its own; everything else stays fully effective. If either party fails to exercise a right or remedy under these terms and conditions, that failure is not a waiver of the right or remedy. The headings used here are for convenience only and have no legal meaning or effect.

The Agreement is the entire agreement between the Seattle Women Leaders Association and you as to the Content, and it supersedes all previous agreements, communications, representations and arrangements, whether written or oral.

10. Contact and Revisions

Any query about the Service, including any complaint, may be sent to Service@WomanLeaders.org.

This version of the Agreement was published on October 18, 2026, and it replaces the previously published subscriber agreement with immediate effect. We may change the Agreement from time to time, and we will publish the date of any change in this section, so please check this section regularly to see whether it has been updated.
